Volume Data Post Processing (VDPP)

The term "Volume Data Post Processing" refers to computerized post processing of tomographic volume data.
Aside from the standard procedures, such as MPR (multiplanar reconstruction), MIP (maximum intensity projection), 3D surface and volume rendering, and virtual endoscopy, VDPP is a concept that also includes the preparation of computer controlled therapy approaches, e.g CAS (computer assisted surgery, which includes rapid prototyping, and dental CT for the planning of implants), or 3D radiation treatment planning for conformal radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy.

A visit to the CT cases might also prove to be interesting as in most of the CT cases the original data has been subjected to post processing as well.
