Fracture of the right acetabulum (posterior column) in a 29 year old patient, having received osteosynthetic surgery.

Based on primary axial slices, acqired in in spiral CT mode, the 3D reconstruction with separate rendering and visualisation of the pelvic bone, the femur, and the material used for osteosynthesis, was performed on an OmniPro workstation. Note that the pelvic bone has been rendered transparently
The fracture can still be seen: Note the small bulging formation below the implant in the 3D reconstruction, and the gap (arrow) in the left MPR image. Furthermore there is a small bony defect at the border of the acetabulum which can be seen in both MPR (right image; arrow) and reconstruction.
